WE REALIZED OUR EVENT "OUR PENSIONERS MEET WITH HORSES AND NATURE".
Within the scope of the "2024 Year of Retirees - Veterans of the Turkey Century" project, which will
be carried out by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security under the auspices of the Presidency of
the Republic of Turkey, the event was held on May 24, 2024 at 14.00, in cooperation with Mennan
Pasinli Equine Vocational School and our University.

With the event called "Our Retirees Meet with Horses and Nature", it was aimed to provide personal
and spiritual relaxation to our retirees staying in nursing homes in Nilüfer district by meeting them
with our horses.

In the event supported by our students and Bursa Uludağ University Equestrian Community (ULUAT)
students, we brought together our horses, who were staying in nursing homes, with our horses.

We introduced our vocational school and our horses to our guests.

Grooming and general care practices of our horses were carried out and our young volunteer guests
were mounted on our horses.

During the continuation of our event, we met with our guests and had the opportunity to chat with
our students, academic and administrative staff, accompanied by refreshments and a musical
concert.

"Intergenerational Awareness and Communication" was also achieved by establishing
intergenerational bridges between our students and their elders and sharing together.

Director of the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (UKAM) of our
university, with whom we collaborated in the realization of our event, Prof. Dr. Nimet Haşıl Korkmaz
and our academics in the center management also gave information about UKAM and emphasized
that our joint collaborations will continue.

Our event, which took place within our Vocational School, continued with a folk dance show as well
as a poetry and music recital with the participation of our guests.

We were happy that our "Experienced Young People", in their own words, who stay in nursing
homes, stated that they achieved personal and spiritual relaxation in a peaceful and different
environment with our horses and nature.

We would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the tradition of our event called "Our
