With the slogan "Our Differences are Our Power", it became a beacon of hope for young people with autism between the ages of 20-28. Within the scope of the project, step aerobic exercises with the participation of the family contributed to the socialization, self-confidence and physical development of young people.
Sıla Avcı and İlayda Çıbık, who coordinated the project, said: “We know that individuals with autism spectrum disorder have problems with socialization and communication. In this project, we aimed to improve the socialization skills of young people and increase their self-confidence through step aerobic exercises.”
Within the scope of the project, 15 young people with autism between the ages of 20-28 were trained in step aerobics exercises for 4 weeks. Families were also encouraged to participate in the exercises. Families enjoyed having fun and spending time with their children by participating in the exercises. At the end of the project, young people had the opportunity to showcase their skills by organizing a step aerobics show. The enthusiastic performance of the young people was highly appreciated by the audience.
