An opening ceremony was held for the first Academy Year of Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Faculty of Dentistry 2020-2021. The students attending the ceremony were dressed in white gowns by the university administrators.

Students of the Faculty of Dentistry, which started education for the first time this year, wore their white uniforms at the ceremony. Rector Prof Dr Ahmet Saim Kilavuz, Vice Rector Prof Dr İrfan Kırıştıoğlu, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry Prof Dr Halil Sağlam, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof Dr Ekrem Kaya, Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Dr Nurcan Özyazıcıoğlu, University General Secretary Osman Dikmen, academicians, students and their families were present at the ceremony.

RECTOR : WE HAVE RECRUITED A SERIOUS EDUCATION STAFF

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Rector of BUU Prof. Dr. A. Saim Kilavuz said that it has been possible to open the Faculty of Dentistry, which was established 28 years ago with the decision of the Council of Ministers. Noting that they are very meticulous in terms of staff work, Rector Prof Dr Saim Kilavuz; “We thought it was important for a good team to establish this faculty. We have formed a very serious education and training staff. Our academicians have adapted to the faculty. I believe that they will make serious contributions to R&D activities. I believe that they will produce useful products in terms of R&D by collaborating with important companies in biotechnology together with our Faculty of Medicine. We will also attach special importance to the issue of sharing the information produced outside of education and training activities and R&D activities with the society. The ultimate goal of all this is to serve society and the humanity that constitutes society. If these three subjects are done together, the education at the university will find its real value. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who played an important role in bringing this important faculty to our city ”.

THE BEST IN CAPACITY FOR PATIENT EXAMINATION

Bursa Oral and Dental Health Hospital Chief Physician Dr Lütfi Çiftçi , who will work with the Faculty of Dentistry in affiliation, emphasized that the University administrators brought a very important faculty to Bursa. Stating that Bursa will rise to a higher level with education, scientific studies and R&D in oral and dental health, Chief Physician Dt. Lütfi Çiftçi; “Physicians will be trained in our city from now on. There will also be solutions to issues that require expertise. It will be an establishment that will serve the domestic capital with its R&D studies. As Bursa Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital, we will be proud to provide all kinds of support and service. He added that according to statistics of the Ministry as patient examination capacity  the hospital is one of Turkey's largest facility.

Following the opening ceremony, the first lecture was given to the students by Prof Dr Ali Alper Pampu, Faculty Member of BUU Faculty of Dentistry. At the end of the lesson, all students attending the ceremony were dressed in white uniforms by the University administrators.
